I was perfectly serious when I said I’d made six Daturas. This is the latest one (I don’t think I’ve shared #’s 3 or 4 yet) and it might be my new favorite.
I have absolutely no idea what this fabric is. It’s cottony and flowy like a rayon challis but the weave is a little more open. It’s just as soft though, and so comfy to wear. I tried pairing it with a paper bag skirt, hoping the ruffling around the waist would help with the awkward tucked-in-ness. I’m not totally convinced.
Happy Friday everyone!
I have loved seeing your Daturas, I have the pattern and I need to get to it I guess, yours are all so cute!!! Also, just a note- since you updated your blog I can’t view it on my iPhone (which is usually how I read blogs). The photos are all weird and stretched out. Just thought you might want to know. It looks fine on my computer.
i havent thought about making a monochrome datura, but it works really well!
This is so cute! I love the red!
Pretty again! Maybe I should buy the pattern. But I allready own so many patterns, aaaaaa
So pretty! Love the whole outfit.
Did you make the skirt too? It’s gorgeous!!! I love the gathered part at the waist so adorable!!
I did! Thanks 🙂 I used this tutorial: http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/pleated-paper-bag-skirt
I recommend using something a little stiffer than linen though, because my pleats are a little too floppy and not as crisp-looking as the ones in the tutorial 🙂
